pennsylvania, U.S.A

so, we're finally here at our place, state college, pennsylvania. 10 minute walk away from downtown. havent tried walking there yet cos we jus got here last night. the weather here is quite cold. especially during the nite. kinda like genting cold. and according to the people we've been talking to its not normal. so, its not my fault i didnt bring any 'tebal' jackets. lol.
summers coming soon. the hot season. but for the time being its stil cool. really nice cool weather outside.
we did our grocery shopping this morning. keen jakun with a lot of stuff, cos takde kat msia. hahaha. that girl ah. sue also same. im not that jakun anymore i guess. im into other stuff. the house here aint bad, cume the owners left their closets full, so menyusahkan us a bit. cos we need to keep our stuff too.

the trip ----> we took our flight from johor to kl. sampai kl around 830 am. so we jalan2 cari our gates. by that time it was already 900am so terus masuk plane. then after about almost an hour, they said the plane had technical problems, so we had to change planes. it was suppose to fly by 1130am. so we waited at the terminals till 1100am when they announced our flights will be at 1pm pulak. gile. dahla tengah lapar. didnt eat the whole day. so they gave us these tokens for us to get free food at some restaurants (but got limit laa). so, finally got to eat. makan2...dah pukul 12 lebih. made our way to the terminal and masuk plane. this time no probs. so our journey started.

12 something hours in the plane does not do good to your body man. even if you were to get up jalan2 (in the plane, which is kinda weird). after the first 5 hours your back will start to ache. but being in air was cool. rasa macam on top of the world man. haha.

arrival ----> aunty lina and uncle david picked us up at the airport. and they drove us to aunty surias house which was about 3 hours away. slept for 1/2 an hour i think. so we slept at aunty surias aptmnt that night. very cold night.

next day -----> woke up fresh at around 9am. then got sleepy again at 2pm (its like 2am malaysia) so tido. then tgk2 dah pukul 6pm! man, timing was really off. jetlag. aunty lina invited us for dinner, so we went. she made mee hoon goreng and ayam goreng and aunty suria brought some pizza (which is 3 times the size compared to malaysia pizza might i add). i ate a bit of mee hoon and got full. we missed american idol that night but aunty suria recorded it on TiVo so it was ok. we went back to aunty surias place and watched a.i. together. we were rootin for bo. haha..yeah. aunty surias cool. shes got a nice place too. couldnt sleep till about 3am, so went surfing the 900 channels.

next next day ------> had 4 hours of sleep and coudnt sleep anymore. packed our bags and got ready to go to town to meet my dads prof. she invited us all for lunch at this reallly nice restaurant. i had a spinach ravioli which was awesome. haha. after that we said buhbyess. then my fam and i walked to our car rental place (1/2 an hour walk i think) it was really cold. i was getting blisters cos i coudnt find my socks before we left. the rental place was at this station (looked like a scene from kal ho naa ho). this was kinda our first outing since we got here. so we got our SUV, went back to aunty surias house to get out bags and went off to state college. 4 hour trip. aunty fuzi ajak for dinner so we had dinner at their house before coming to our own house. met her husband pat. hes a cool dude. friendly and funny. they lent us some sleeping bags and pillows cos there werent enough at out place. nice people. aunty fuzi makes me feel at home. maybe cos she speaks god malay. haha..nice people la.

well, thats it for now. hope to keep this blog updated frequently. if not, than its 'hello again' to my journal.
oh yeah,we're using a wireless connection account which is not secured by the people who registered. hahaha.. their fault. good thing, if not i wouldnt be posting this.

bon voyage?

in exactly an hour we're off to senai airport for a flight to klia. then from klia straight to new york. 23 hours. talk about a pain in the arss.
some friends and aunties came over. chat-chat with nile and shan. gonna miss them. gonna miss the house especially, never been away from the house for more than 2 weeks.
some of ya are probably gonna think im crazy for followin my parents, yeah..with uni and matric starting and all..but i mean..this is like a chance in a lifetime to go. if not now than probably never.
dont think im gonna sleep, have to wake up in 1/2 an hour anyway, might as well stay awake rite? i hope the trip will go okay, and the baggage process will go on smoothly. god almighty protect us.

2 roti canais & a TOEFL please

no..toefl is NOT a food. mind you. the test went okay. although i thought i couldve done better on the writing with more time. but i had only 1/2 an hour. so, couldnt really say it was 'da bomb'. the question went sometin like dis:
"some people trust their judgement on people on first impressions, others feel the opposite. compare the two and tell us which one you would go with."
i went with the 'opposite' ofcourse. and it was about 350 words. my range for the whole thing was 188-240 which my mom said was ok. i guess. not great, but okay.
developed a 'short-term' crush at the center..haha! i couldnt help it, he was darn cute and he spoke really good english plus he was malay. mr prometic was his name [hes a guy and he works at the prometric center..fair enough]. im just glad the tests over. ill get the results in about 2 weeks i guess.
alhamdulillah, abah got his visa today. finally! everyone was worried he wouldnt get it and we had to delay the trip, guess its ok now. thank god. thats it for now. have to se cik norzilah tomorow. adios.

abhor - to hate

i think the fish in the lake are in some kind of clan trying to make me feel stupid..I CANT CATCH ANY FISH! we've tried cacing, hati ayam, roti, roti canai (??), ikan masin (??), it all jus doesnt seem to work. i give up, their just too smart for me.
went out to the jetty around 10 pm in the dark, hoping to catch 'a' fish. but ended up with nothing except for these plants stuck on my pants..(those tajam2 ones where if u wanna get it off kena pick off one by one..ape ntah name). i was just online for some last minute studying about mahathir mohamad, in case it comes out for the TOEFL writing part about tokoh or something. man..i hope i do well. and i hope i get that scholarship. REALLY WANT IT LIKE HELL GILE BABZ! we're off to kl tomorow. drop off tok first (we're at bukit merah) then blah. then tuesday kena wake dang early for the test.
ooh yeah..almost forgot to mention. to all the peeps out there goin for matric..good luck all! its gonna be a blast man! i got one in tangkak. but cant go. hmm..mixed emotions. just nervous bout goin to some other country. get this funny feeling in my stomach when i think about it. oh well..god almighty help me in whatever i do..

friendster interrupted

aloha, comoesta? [2 whole different languages]. we had a dinner party tonight. LC and Chau, Andrew and his wife, Bobby, and Kak Nabilah. All former RA's of my parents. had to cook mostly vegetarian food cos Chau's a vegetable..i mean, vegetarian. it was cool. they left around ten. and thats a record. cos we usually have guests at 8 til like 12. and the cleanin [dishes. menyapu-ing,storing food] usually ends in the A.M. but this time by 11 dah abis. and amazingly i didnt have to do the dishes.
confirmed TOEFL date - 17 May at 9am. we're leaving for KL tomorow, then maybe home #2, then KL back by monday cos tuesday got test. dunnola, see how it goes.
well, my friends are all starting matric on monday. sometimes i feel like i wanna do the same, but looking at the situation [going to US and all], cant really do that. but i hope i get a better offer somewhere. i heard matric johor sucked anyway. haha. kidding.
something wrong with friendster. my email says ive got 3 recieved messages but when i log on to friendster, it cant be viewed. wonder what mizi, zubair and josh have to say. oh well, check it tomorow i guess, if i get the chance. gotta sleep.

gawd its rainin hard outside. just the way i like it. i was writing an essay, 2 actually for the AMCHEE [or sumthin like that] scholarship thingy. [like ill ever get it]. i wish id get it! insya-allah. one of the essays is something about describing your academic goals. and the other something about an event in your life that has taught you a lesson. i think ill write about the time i punched jen aniston cos she kissed brad pitt and brad pitt came and punched me! [didnt know they were married..how foolosh of me]. taking TOEFL anytime soon. bit nervousla.
anyways, american idol was okay today dont ya think? i say anthonys out this week. that backstreet boy aint got what it takes. dont u think? speaking of backstreet dudes, their 'incomplete' song kinda sux. i was expecting more from my beloved boyband [as of darjah enamla]. ya know..wit their i want it that way shit..come on, who doesnt like that song? even eminem likes it. lol.
someone said something to me this morning that made me sakit hati til almost petang [now cool alreadylar]. at that moment, right at that very second, i felt like running. but it was hot outside, so yeah, changed my mind. haha.

twilight zone

im home alone!!! guess music doesnt do the trick..im a bit freaked out! went downstairs and thought i saw a hand at the end of the stairs. then i thought i heard something, so i kept quiet. then..'bejeeekk,,', stupid nyamuk in my ear. wah piang, damn freaked out. then i was lookin through a slit of a half open cabinet, suddenly cicak lari keluar. macam sial. i need some cake. yesterdays cake! yummy..

mummys day

opah is whistling while sleeping. HAHA. cant help giggling to myself.
we only celebrated mums day today cos parents jus came back this morning. got some cyder and cinamon buns [which me and keena made til about 2am last nite] out. ofcourse, that was a pre-celebration. abah and keen went out at nite and got a cake. yummy cake. yummier if it was ice cream cake. went to a friends house for a while. just realised..havent gone to jusco for more than a week! thats quite long considering its only five minutes walk from here. [opah mumbled something just now in her sleep..sounded like..'mdisajhnjue'..] i should be sleeping nowlaa. wat to do? cannot sleep siax. had a 3 hour nap in the afternoon..opah going back tomorow. yay! um..i mean..yay? no offense. i kinda miss the privacy. havent had it for more than a week. i really need it once in a while. im out.

walking away

it was 3 am in the morning. sick of being here. so decided to take the van and jus drive around. saw a convenient shop nearby. decided to get a pack of salem lights. jus as i was paying for it at the counter, my bro came. so i put the box back and went back to the car. and drove back home. how weird?

hmm..its may already. time passes by so damn quick. exactly 16 days til we're outta here..! might have to take some tests. nak register for TOEFL on 19th. gotta go practice some questions. out. *wherever you will go - the calling*
