trip to philly

hey my faithful journal.
finished 'nights in rodanthe' - nicholas sparks. a romance novel. i think my first romance novel. dont usually read romance cos its just so unrealistic. especially for a person like me, cos im a bit pessimistic about this stuff. but i guess once in a while its okayla. its a sad story. someone dies. i actually teared at a part of the book. i know, stupid me. nicholas sparks is an awesome writer.

We started our trip to philly yesterday morning around 10 am and arrived at Aunty L's house at around 2pm. Then, Uncle F (i dunno why im calling him uncle, he's only 12 years or so older than me) came around 230pm. so, we had our lunch at around 3. mom made nasi lemak, just a simple malay food specially made for the malays. Uncle F and Aunty L in this case i guess, cos we're used to nasi lemak. so, makan-makan. i talked to V for a while. V is mom and dads RA and a friend of mine. he arrived in philly from Malaysia on the 28th and Aunty L and Uncle D were really nice enough to let him stay at their house. their goin to malaysia on wednesay so their leaving the house to V. people here are so freaken nicela.
anyway, after lunch, the 'adults' talked..yada yada..uncle D put on pirates of the caribbean, and how cool, just adds to the 'list of johnny depp movies that needs to be watched' which i plan to complete. so, watched that, for the second time. but i still like it. tried to play nintendo with A, but i suck, seriously suck. i can play Playstation but not nintendo. weird huh? or maybe it was just the games..their a bit too, hmm..whats the word? animated?
After all that, around 7pm, we went around philly - UPENN. V was gonna have a seminar there, so we took him around. Uncle F kinda was the 'tourguide'..haha. took some pics here and there, went to the bookstore, went to the clothes souvenir shop but tutup, got a drink, took some more pics - at the big broken button. i had a pic at the big broken button when i was younger. dunno why its there or what its suppose to represent, but we still took pictures.
we then got back home at around 930pm. uncle F brought out his pillow (utecay ikelay ellhay..! utshay upay arahsay!!) we were all spendin the night at Aunty L's place. (evenay uncleay Fay..owhay oolcay isay atthay?? anmay..iay amay atheticpay huh?) we girls got the room. the guys tido kat bawah.
today, went to the mall. V stayed home and kinda babysat for A. haha. so it was us, Aunty L and Uncle D and Uncle F (i gotta stop callin him that..its soo WEIRD!) destination - king of prussia. now this mall aint no Jaya Juso at taman U. its majorly huge! 4 floors, about 150 shops on each including JCPenneys, Macys. Strawbridges and whatever shit. F, ma and abah and me and keen split up. me and keen checked out some clothes. i tried on things i would never wear in public, which i do not need to go in further detail. but, oddly, me and keen didnt buy anything. we had 20 bux each. i couldve settled for the $18 blouse which looked awesome, but i decided to save the money. crazy me. shouldve just bought it! dont u ever wish u were rich? or maybe even..royalty?? then ud be FILTHY rich. like the royalties in malaysia who take our parents money and spend it in places like...hmm..USA! woops..too far off there.
we were off for about 2 hours. then ma told us to meet back up. hate goin to the mall and not getting to see everything. its like finding a dollar bill on the road and not takin it - only far worse. im hopin we'll go there again. V will be watching Aunty L's house, so, we can always drop by there while at philly. we then took off to state college right after that. with nothing from the mall (me and keenla..parents bought some stuff). i hate it. why do i have to be so nice? i feel so guilty asking for extra cash. why cant i just go all bratty and ask for more? haha...what a STUPID thought. well, i couldve if i worked, its just that i found out i need a permit and all that shit cos im under 18. amenda ntah.
so now we're back at BCD. it was a fun weekend. i cant really specify which part of it was fun; Aunty L whose so friendly, A. whose so adorable, the house which seems so homey, F who was there and lookin all cute, V - a friend from malaysia, ritas waterice, family, malls, childhood parks, muslim community, yeah....maybe it was all that. man, i love it here. i dont wanna go back. at least not within this month.

thrift shop ke-raze

we went around today looking for cheap, used stuff. and no, i dont care what you think. anyways, for myself, i just got a shirt. and some photo frames. kinda collecting those shits. i have about 10 already. the things people dont want can really become someone else's treasure. i should have a yard sale, u know, to get rid of all my junk. i bet i could fill up a yard with the stuff just from my room. i swear. and maybe get rid of loads of clothes. totally need a new wardrobe anyway. maybe after i get some cash. do you have cash? would you like to give me some?

we went to dairy queen after that. ice cream. on my request, as usual. i was bloated with ice cream. i felt at that very moment, i wouldnt eat icecream for a whole week. but just an hour ago i was lookin for icecream sandwiches in the freezer. and they werent any. dang.

didnt go to the mall, or the library. maybe tomorow. i found some of my ringgits, about RM 130. that would be about 30 dollars. i could buy H.P. half blood prince with that. but nah, ill let parents do that, or keena.

just finished reading Dreamcatcher. the movie was good. but reading the book is always more enjoyable. im on another of Stephen Kings works. "The Girl Who Love Tom Gordon". yeap..baru nak baca..apela sara. i dont really read 'a lot' but im hoping to make that a new habit.
so, drexel accepted me for biomedical engineering. their sem will start sept 26th, 2 months from now. i applied for MARA student loan. if they approve, then i guess its 'hello' to philly.
we have another about 3 weeks left here. i seriously cant believe how time passes sooo darn quickly. still felt like it was yesterday that we went to Disney World. man..
well, gotta sleep. tomorows agendas -- shopping (window only la kot), and stop by library; help keen study and get some johnny depp movies. Oh JoHnNy, MarRy Me! hahahaha..

well, Aunty L & Uncle D and family came on saturday to visit. they got here around 11am and lepak skejap at the house. then ma, abah, and them went to the arts festival in downtown. i didnt go cause i saw most of it the day before. then they came back and hanged for a while at the house. sempat i went for a cycle. about 3 miles. ma, abah, and Aunty L were in the kitchen cookin for dinner, i helped out a bit. aunty F and Uncle P came for dinner too. it was a full house.
Aunty L's kids are just cute. D locked himself out and he was calling for his mom. i couldnt help but find that incident very funny. haha. im easily amused. oh well.
Abah and Uncle D played frisbee and all outside. i was hangin with my book most of the time but occasionally go around the house to see whats goin on.
today, watched 2 movies - I, Robot (for the 3rd time) and The Replacements. My sister wanted to watch that. i thought it was a copy of Little Giants, only an adult version.
we went for a small picnic nearby today. played some baseball, basketball. then singgah walmart buy some groceries. then balik. fooosh..todays entry very detail la. so pathetic. anyways, this shit might, in some way, sound amusing in 10 years to come, so what the heck?

charlie & the chocolate factory

Terrific movie. Loved it, loved it, loved it. cant say its BETTER then the first version, but totally awesome. i dont really remember the story from the original book, but i think there were some add ons in this movie. went with my sis to the nearest cinema - downtown. i just had to watch it. we got back home at around 9pm.

Likes:

• the kids characters. they played them so well.
• charlies house - showed how poor he really was
• the factory - dangit. this ones awesome
• willy wonka - johny depp i love you
• graphics - tim burton movies rock

Dislikes:

• the oompa loompas - freaky. did you guys notice hes the dude playin in that creepy episode of X-files? the dude with no legs and creeks around and eats people. my golly..that was the freakiest X-file epi ive ever seen.
• the songs - could do with some more work. but too late.

i still like gene wilder as wonka. johny depp rocks my socks and all, but he just doesnt play it as well. i still love him though.

another episode of my boring life..
well, skins changed. after 3 months of that 'shoot me' shit. something went wrong with it i guess. words all over the places. so now im back to my 1st ever skin. woopay.
nothing much going on. sometimes feel sick of staying at home. Walmart called me for an interview. hope i get the job. need some cash man!
we checked out the daycare for sue, and it was 110 bux a week. sure if we had a shit ass lot of money we'd send her, but nope. but she was hoping to go so much. she wants to go so much. so kesianla.
checked out YMCA. they goy gyms and hangout rooms and pools. nice place.
brought rizvi's treadmill out. haha. why not put it to use eh? its not like we're gonna break it. heavy duty shit i tell ya.
anyway, hell with this. at least for today. my interview thingys on thursday. aunty linas comin on saturday for the arts festival downtown which'll start wednesday. hope its the bomb. peace out.

Greetings earthlings of the...earth? I come in Pieces..of carrots?
I suck at intros..even in real life. ANYWAY, updates:-

• We've moved in Rizvis and might i say the house is DAMN CUN!!
• Got into PennState. Only they can only let me in at Altoona cos University Park was full for Fall. Unless if i really wanted to go to University Park campus, then i gotta wait Spring.
• Applied for a job. CVS? Walmart? Sears? Hollywood Videos? Schlow Library? Ben & Jerrys? Hopin to get one of those. Just need some extra cash and time to kill.
• Suppose to be at UIA today. For the registration. *sigh*. Goodbye UIA..at least for now. Abah wrote a letter to them asking if i can get in 2nd semester, in case i dont accept my PennState offer. Well, my Matric friends - have fun!
• Been jogging..yup..with a capital J. yes, i AM capable of it. and no, im NOT crazy.
• Gonna get a bike tomorow!! woopee. why am i soo excited? kat malaysia ada bike but tak guna pun.
• Went to the mall for the 1st time since ive been here..(i know..kesian). Small mall la. but got shopsla. got hunks also. lol.
• oh yeah..ACT's. hmm..if ikut the rankingla. My composite score on the national rank is a 71. which is not so good but more than 50, so, i dunno, okay what? ah..doesnt matter. didnt even have enouigh study on it.
• Been playing piano. although i have no idea how. gonna check out some stuff on the net.

In exactly an hour, i would have been at UIA, probably listening to some boring ceramah and on with my pre-u life. but, i guess not. oh well, insya-allah god gives me what i deserve. amin.
